House Majority Leader Morgan Griffith has been a member of the Virginia House of Delegates since 1994. He represents the 8th District, which is comprised of the City of Salem and portions of Roanoke County....A graduate of Salem’s Andrew Lewis High School, Morgan is an honors graduate of Emory & Henry College. After completing his studies at Washington and Lee University School of Law, Morgan returned to the Roanoke area to practice law. Today, he is a partner in Albo and Oblon, one of Virginia’s fastest growing law firms with offices in many areas of the Commonwealth....One of the most influential members of the Virginia General Assembly, Morgan’s colleagues elected him House Majority Leader in 2000. He is the first Republican in Virginia history to hold that position. He is a member of the House Courts of Justice and Militia, Police and Public Safety Committees, and serves as Vice Chairman of the Rules Committee.
