BREAKING VIDEO....Creigh Deeds has a melt down after Fairfax Chamber Debate...Roughs up Female Reporter

Posted by MAXIMUS

Is Deeds off his meds? No further explanation necessary. The revolution...ergh, I mean the implosion will be televised....look at how Creigh Deeds responds to a question from the lady reporter and behold how he can't answer MULTIPLE question on taxes.

For the love of pete, just let the video speak for itself. I'm a moderate and this does not constitute a "melt down" and he did not "rough up" a female reporter. It's hyperbole like this that makes moderates like myself hate both parties. Just try honestly reporting things for once and see how that works. Geez.

I have to agree with FanGuy, this is by no means an accurate reporting of the clip you are showing. No where during this video did I see him "rough up" any female reporter.

On another note, I can't say I expect much from a conservative blogger reporting on a Democratic nominee. This is the typical type of dishonest reporting I see from this type of blogging.

Anon, true point about the nature of the forum and situation. Bloggers on both sides of the aisle do it. I guess they just try to fire up their base, but efforts like this aren't going to convince anyone on the fence. If you are predisposed to dislike Deeds, you will probably find hyperbole like this convincing - but then again, you don't need to be convinced. But if you are a middle of the road guy like me, you just find it misleading. McDonnell has taken the high road thus far, there is no need at this point for his surrogate bloggers to throw unnecessary and inaccurate mud.

I clicked on the link hoping to see a true "meltdown", instead I got a politician in a very uncomfortable spot fighting to find the words to use to answer a question in a way that doesn't contradict himself. That's hardly a "meltdown."

Anon and Fan Guy:

I'm flattered and honored that both of you took a break from Deeds' Campaign headquarters to spend some quality time commenting on a story you hate. Deeds looked like a mentally confused individual in this clip that was having a meltdown.

If you two "middle of the road" diction diva's want to parse the accurate title of Meltdown as used in this here headline, if offer you this from Merriam-Webster's Online Dictionary:

Main Entry: melt·down
Pronunciation: \ˈmelt-ˌdau̇n\
Function: noun
Date: 1956
a rapid or disastrous decline or collapse
link here: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/meltdown

The video clearly shows that Deeds had a meltdown in the Press Conference in that Deeds experienced a disatrous collapse in failing to answer simple questions about taxing the citizens of Virginia. You both stand corrected. Leave your apologies in this same thread

When Deeds snapped "I think I made myself clear to you young lady"
that is a verbal roughing up if I've ever heard one. You're delusional and an apologist shill for the Democratic Party

Deeds is surrounded by people asking him questions and it is largely the same question over and over. I can see how that would get annoying after a while.

I would disagree with calling this "a meltdown". He got a little snippy with that one lady (hardly a "rough up") but largely kept his cool in a difficult situation.

You are minimizing the situation. Deeds' condescending tone, manner, and disposition towards the young lady is uncalled for and unbecoming of someone who wants to become the next Governor of Virginia.

Maximus, you need to get a grip dude. Read my blog. I've been all over Charlie Diradour this week. I'm hardly a Democrat. Of course, I'm not a Republican either. I guess the fact that I get accused by both sides of supporting the other is proof positive that I'm the sane one. Act like an adult and use your brain instead of hurling insults that have no basis in fact.

I have a grip, I have a grip on what I am instead of treading in the "independent" no man's land--afraid to commit to a set of clearly defined principals of one party like yourself. Man up dude.

As for your post on Diradour, okay, you posted a story? That has nothing to do with this thread. You posted a story? So what, welcome to blogging. Does baby also want a pacifier and some milk for validation? You are baically the only "blogger" who doesn't get that Deeds was destroyed in yesterday's debate--even the Washington Post was dogging him today. Keep drinking the kool-aid. Your analysis is spot on *snark*

Maximum, ok, tell me, what are the "clearly defined principals" of your party. Seriously. Tell me.

Your party doesn't know what it is or wants to be, neither does the Democratic party. The fact that I am not a member of either party does not mean I don't have clearly defined principals. I just don't need some party leader to tell me what my clearly defined principals are.

And again, Deeds getting "destroyed" in the debate is not the issue. The issue is whether the video snippet you posted showed a meltdown. Try to stick to the issue.

[And who the hell includes "*snark*" at the end of their posts? If you have to tell somone your post is *snarky*, you obviously haven't effectively communicated your point.]

Fan Guy: You demonstrate that you truly have no clue what you're talking about to wit: Party leaders don't communicate what the party principals should be as you indicate, rather the grassroots of the party dictates what the principals of the party should be. In turn, the grassroots select and then elect public officials that most closely reflect our principles. Is that hard to grasp?

From within the party, an individual either agrees with these principles or not. You either fight to maintain these principles within the party, or change them within the party. You either feel comfortable with the party you choose or you leave it. An inability to choose a party results from one of two things IMHO: 1.) The Party candidate fails to effectively communicate policy proposals that reflect the very principles or ideals of the party or 2.) the voter really doesn't know what principles they stand for or what they want out of government--and are instead swayed by mere marketing. Think not? Exhibit One is the election of President Obama.

Here are the principals that conservatives believe in as reflected in the Virginia Republican Creed:

That the free enterprise system is the most productive supplier of human needs and economic justice,

That all individuals are entitled to equal rights, justice, and opportunities and should assume their responsibilities as citizens in a free society,

That fiscal responsibility and budgetary restraints must be exercised at all levels of government,

That the Federal Government must preserve individual liberty by observing Constitutional limitations,

That peace is best preserved through a strong national defense,

That faith in God, as recognized by our Founding Fathers is essential to the moral fiber of the Nation.

No need to curse on this blog, so kindly refrain from it in all your future posts on this blog. If you can articulate your political principles feel free to do so.

That's great Maximus, but how does your creed address issues like abortion, gay marriage, and immigration?

Not to mention that your "creed" has been largely abandoned by a sizable portion of your party - particularly fiscal responsibility.

And sorry about the "curse word". I didn't realize h-e double hockey sticks was so offensive to you. I am kind of surprised considering your bomb throwing rhetoric above. A bit hypocritical, don't you think?

I totally agree that those in leadership in the GOP in the past have not abided by the creed. No argument from me, none at all. Like the Democrats of today, the GOP of yesterday committed the same sell out behaviors in pursuit of buying off special interests and D.C. lobbyists. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. My job as a party activist is to enforce the creed and to ensure our candidates abide by it. Sometimes with success and sometimes without success.

Nothing hypocritical on my part, and I don't mind the back and forth, just no cursing.
