Obama's Condescension

RPV Press Release:

RICHMOND, VA - Barack Obama's condescending comments at an April 6 fundraiser prove once again that he is out of touch with mainstream American voters.

In front of a San Francisco audience, Obama stated that Americans experiencing tough economic times become "bitter" and then "they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations." (Huffingtonpost.com)

"Americans with a deep religious faith, an appreciation for the Second Amendment, and a healthy respect for the rule of law have long been the heart and soul of America," said Republican Party of Virginia Chairman John Hager. "That Barack Obama thinks that these Americans turn to God out of bitterness just shows how out of touch he really is. Many voters have looked at Obama's liberal voting record and suspected he falls outside of mainstream America, but now he has opened his mouth and removed all doubt."
