MEET ANITA HARTKE....THE DEVELOPER'S DREAM CANDIDATE FOR CONGRESS

Posted by MAXIMUS

You hear these phrases all the time: Smart Growth; Planned Growth; Managed Growth; Infrastructure in-place-before-growth; Larger lot sizes to curtail suburban and exurban sprawl; and on, and on, and on....Congressman Eric Cantor (R-VA 7) gets it. His pro-developer opponent does not.

The Democrats in Virginia's 7th Congressional District are tone death to what the people in the District are really talking about. Why? Because they are running a PRO-DEVELOPER, REAL ESTATE BROKER candidate for Congress named Anita Hartke who also happens to be a real estate broker. Hartke says folks are "frustrated by the gridlock" in Washington D.C.

Well, if Hartke is elected to Congress on the "anytime, anyplace, pro-residential growth platform," they don't know the level of gridlock she has in store for the 7th District.

Hartke has over 20 years worth of experience in promoting and selling haphazard unplanned residential growh products. If you like waiting five or six turns to get thru the traffic light; if you like having 40 kids in your child's 2nd grade classroom; if you like having your real estate assessment skyrocket to subsidize new residential growth in your county; if you like choking off your streams and creeks with untreated storm water runoff from new residential neighborhoods; if you like endless rows of strip malls stacked three or four deep; if you like governmental give away programs to finance private development projects with taxpayer money, then by all means, VOTE FOR DEMOCRAT ANITA HARTKE FOR CONGRESS....SHE IS THE DEVELOPER'S DREAM CANDIDATE AND A NIGHTMARE CANDIDATE FOR THE TYPICAL HOMEOWNER.

I don't see the connection between being a Real Estate Broker, as Anita is, and why you attack her as pro growth. One can sell houses without being in the vest pocket of developers and in her case, I know of no connection between her business practices and mismanaged local development.

I also don't see much of a connection between this long shot race for a seat in Congress and local growth problems, since Congress does not deal with zoning issues or building permits, unless you want to count appropriations for roads and other big infrastructure projects, like Senator Ted Stevens, "Bridge to nowhere."

I have already written Anita Hartke and asked her to give Eric a good, clean contest based on an honest discussion of real issues and real solutions to the problems that we all face. I didn't expect that someone from my own Republican side would leap out and start the slander before a single issue could be debated.

So let's start over. Here's a topic: America needs an energy independence program. What would you support and when would be the date that you would set to achieve our national energy independence day?

Who ever wrote this piece about Anita, dosent know a thing about her. This is a staged response of trying to instigate fear into a homeowning audience with an absolute lie. How pathetic can one be. How many houses does John McCain own again? Oh yeah , so many he forgot. What's that got to do with Eric? Hey check out his position , on a financial predator lending board. Need a good foreclosure king pin...Eric's your man, he's got big business in his back pocket along with a campaign war chest over how many MILLION? Want to check out the elaborate trips and expenditures to Israel and the likes, HOW MUCH? Gosh I didn't know Virginia needed so many trips to Israel (All paid for by lobbyist groups that take "selective donations of 100 K or more, but only from people on their "A list", any less and they won't accept it. Worried about sending his kids to college with your vote, that is absolute non-sense as well...Those children have trust funds larger than the mortgage on your house. Time for a change. Time to get rid of the FAT CAT elitism that does more to represent a personal agenda than the real issues of the people. You don't have to worry about Eric Cantor shunning away large development. He's too busy protecting the Virginia's voters interests on foreign soil, dining on caviar and bagels in Tel Aviv. As for Anita Hartke , she seems pretty excited about having a chance to represent the working class of her District.
