Letter from John Hager..my choice for RPV Chair

Received this letter from RPC Chair John Hager a man I greatly respect and who has done a tremendous job for the Virginia GOP:

April 8, 2008

Greetings!

Let me begin by thanking so many of you for the support you have given me. With your emails and phone calls, I know that the truth is getting out. So many of you are tired of the ridiculous accusations by my opponent and you have made it clear you are setting the record straight at the local level.

The greatest responsibility of RPV is to assist Republican candidates win their elections. We are here to provide lists, help raise money, coordinate campaign activities with other candidates, and to provide expertise whenever and wherever possible.

That is why I found it incredibly troubling that my opponent, in his mail and with his surrogate speakers, would try to drag an excellent candidate for the House of Delegates into his warped sense of reality.

This February there was special election in the 99th House District. The Republican candidate was Lee Anne Washington. While she lost, she did get 42% of the vote against a very well known Democrat. My opponent has tried to say that her loss was the fault of RPV failing to do more to assist her. Rather than put words in her mouth as the opposition does, I would like to share a letter Lee Anne sent me regarding our efforts.

I think it is clear that we were extremely supportive of Lee Anne, a good conservative. While she may not have been victorious this time, she has laid the necessary groundwork to build for future elections. We have been supportive and will continue to help her be involved. She is currently enrolled in the Jennifer Byler Institute at RPV.

Let me be clear. No matter what my opponent wants to say, he just does not get his facts straight. He is more concerned with tearing down our party - and me personally - than he is with building our party.

This is a critical year for Republicans in Virginia. John McCain needs to be able to count on Virginia, our Senate nominee must beat Mark Warner, and we must defend our eight Congressional seats. This will only happen with all of us working together to grow our party, deliver our message, energize and get our people to the polls. Rewriting history and tearing down Republicans is not the way for us to succeed.

Thank you for all your hard work and encouragement. I will be calling on each of you to continue to set the record straight against those who misrepresent the facts.

Together we will win. Not for me, but for the Republican Party in Virginia.

Sincerely,

John Hager

Hager: Too fat, too old and TOO BUSH!

The VAGOP needs a new face of leadership, one that will convey to Virginians that Virginia Republicans reject the Neocon-Bush "Big Brother" model of unConstitutional government.

Jeff Frederick will send a message, loud and clear that the RPVA is returning to our libertarian core values and will support candidates who will deliver less government intrusion into our lives and more freedom for our citizens, by returning government to within its Constitutional limits.

Supporters of Hager should ask themselves why the Left is so actively promoting Hager.

Jeff Frederick strikes fear into the Left, because they know that with Jeff, Republicans will be winning again.
