When word spread that a chain drugstore might be built at Beach and Winterpock roads, residents in rural southwestern Chesterfield County geared up for a fight. ...Tracy Gendron, Sonya Waters and Margaret Zawislak revived a dormant civic association called Communities of Winterpock, originally formed years ago to oppose a quarry in the area.
