From all indications, it appears that Salam Rasoul will win the Democrat Nomination to run for Congress in Virginia's 6th Congressional District. At present, the 6th Congressional District seat is admirably and competently filled by Republican Rep. Bob Goodlatte. If Salam does win the Democrat nomination, he will be running hand in glove with the probable Democrat Presidential nominee--Hussein Obama.
Salam Rasoul has an incredibly tall mountain to climb to defeat Bob Goodlatte in this November's elections. The Valley of Virginia is one of the strongest GOP enclaves in the nation. However, if Salam were to beat Bob in the upset , Salam would be only the second Muslim ever elected to the United States House of Representatives--the first being Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN). Further, Salam would be the first Muslim ever elected to Congress from Virginia. Many first's there.
In the run up to this November's elections, will Salam Rasoul run on a ticket with Barrack Hussein Obama? Will they have both names printed on joint yard signs, joint literature...and will they run joint commercials, etc.? Will Hussein and Salam make joint appearances in the Valley this Summer? Pretty safe bet they will, Demorats tend to flock together.

Just a small point - the guy who won a special election earlier this month in Indiana, Andre Carson, is the 2nd Muslim in the House.
