VP also heads to Afghanistan

From the Wall Street Journal:

Vice President Dick Cheney paid a surprise visit to embattled Afghanistan, seeking to stoke international support for the fight against the resurgent Taliban and boost the international effort to build up the country's meager economy. The visit - coming in a Mideast tour that had focused on Iraq - reflects the Bush administration's growing worries over the international effort in Afghanistan. President Bush and his advisers think the outlook in Afghanistan is even more uncertain than in Iraq, due to the growing Taliban violence and the apparent slow progress being made by the government of President Hamid Karzai in building up Afghanistan's own security forces and controlling drug trafficking and corruption.
