(Reuters) - Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf's opponents won a big election victory on Tuesday after voters rejected his former ruling party...this could be a big blow to US Pakistan realtions since Musharraf has been in power since 1999 and has been an our ally in many conflicts.

I wouldn't give Musharraf too much credit. He hasn't exactly been the most reliable ally in the area.
Besides, given the nature of the divided opposition, he can probably play each faction against each other and stay in the game.
No doubt D.J. that Musharraf hasn't always been a true ally but in Pakistan is pretty important, in that region, to America's relations in the middle east as a whole.
