Bush didn't kill the Republican Party, You Did!! Yeah, I'm talking to YOU!

In Peggy Noonan's column "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do" She makes the statement, "On the pundit civil wars, Rush Limbaugh declared on the radio this week, "I'm here to tell you, if either of these two guys [Mr. McCain or Mike Huckabee] get the nomination, it's going to destroy the Republican Party. It's going to change it forever, be the end of it!"...This is absurd. George W. Bush destroyed the Republican Party, by which I mean he sundered it, broke its constituent pieces apart and set them against each other. He did this on spending, the size of government, war, the ability to prosecute war, immigration and other issues" the premise that the President did all this on his own and he alone killed the Republican Party is flat out wrong and ill conceived in its conclusions.
"W" didn't kill the Republican party, all us Republicans killed it by: 1.) Not holding our leaders responsible for their actions 2.) Defending the President and other top government leaders no matter what they have done; even if they make boneheaded mistakes that go against our Republican beliefs 3.) Not expressing the conservative view in a clear, concise and inclusive manner to people of differencing viewpoints and 4.)Not showing how the world is a better place when conservative ideals are employed to handle our country's ills. It's high time we Republicans (and more importantly conservatives) take responsibility for our leaders action That we stop sitting back and blindly follow them down a course we know goes against our conservative minds and work to strengthen our party from within. We cannot afford to be lazy "couch potato pundits that blame everyone else for our problems when the means of correcting is right in front of us...It's UnConservative, UnRepublican and most importantly it's UnAmerican. The masses hold the power of the political system in America not its leaders so buck up and do something about it!

Rush needs to get back on his meds..

If anyone is destroying the party it's him for not supporting Duncan Hunter...

He can kiss my rear end, I haven't listened to him since his "No Thorouhgbred Conservatives" comment.

He full of it and hope all Duncan supporters drop their 24/7 subscriptions.

I'm starting to get a little sick of being told how to be a conservative from various Conservative "leaders" ( in the Government, on TV and yes even listening to talk radio) and all the things we should do when they don’t hold themselves to that same standard...I AM a conservative so everything I do reflects that! We people in trenches need to take back the political process and not go around regurgitating what other say we should say. If we do that, then we become…….liberals for God sakes.
